Fueling the Ideal - Marketing with Articles

It's that time of year again ... pages of backpacks, notebooks

and back-to-school clothing fill every circular that hits your

mailbox. And you're off to the races ... the races being the

Sealing The Deal Over The Business Meal

Doing business over meals is a ritual that has existed for centuries. Taking clients to breakfast, lunch or dinner has long been an effective way to build relationships, make the sale or seal the deal. These business meals are essentially business meetings. Knowledge of your product or your service is crucial to the success of the meeting, but so are your manners. Too many people jeopardize an opportunity because they fail to use good dining etiquette. Here are a few basic rules to make the experience pleasurable and profitable.

Know your duties as the host. You are in charge. It is up to you to see that things go well and that your guests are comfortable. You need to attend to every detail from extending the invitation to paying the bill.

Five Magic Phrases: Tips For Negotiating Like A Pro

Those who are new to freelancing are often too afraid to ask for more than a client offers. Thrilled to be making any money at all, new freelancers typically agree to whatever figure is proposed. I was no exception to this rule, but once I’d built up my credits, I realized clients weren’t about to offer me a raise if I continued to play the role of doormat.
Once a freelancer has some experience, the bottom line becomes more important. “Trivial issues” like prompt and appropriate payment start to matter when you depend on your home-business income to pay the bills.
Until you’ve tried negotiating, you may not realize how much you’ve been undercut. A client’s first offer is rarely the maximum amount he or she can actually afford to pay you; as is human nature, m View the rest of this article

Test Driving Your Car

Getting a new car thrills and excites. Sometimes it’s easy to get carried away in our initial response to a car. No matter how much you like a certain vehicle, take it for a long, serious test drive.
You should first plan on spending as long as possible on your test drive. Fifteen minutes isn’t enough time. You want to thoroughly examine the car and definitely have a mechanic check it out.
Take a look at the vehicle overall. Do the body parts line up? Does the paint match? Will doors open and close easily? Do the tires look like they wear evenly?
Check under the hood. You may not know exactly what you’re looking at, but that’s okay. Look for leaky hoses, worn belts, and dirty oil. Ask the dealer to show you the automatic transmission fluid. Smell it. If t View the rest of this article

Planning A Container Water Gardens For Any Yard

I have an admission to make. I’m a natural born swamp-child. To me, there are few things in this world more beautiful than the marshy edges where pond meets woods and creates the perfect growing environment for cattails, water-lilies, lotus, cabomba and lush green ferns.
Alas, it has been my misfortune to live in the middle of the city, in rented apartments with postage stamps for yards. For years, I lusted after large, spacious backyards with room to dig your own pond. I read articles on building water gardens, koi ponds, and backyard fountains and sighed with envy. Then I discovered a simple fact – all it takes to create a water garden is a sunny spot that’s big enough for a pot of water.
It’s no more difficult to grow a water garden in a container than it View the rest of this article

The Truth About Adult ADD and Follow-through

If you are an adult with ADD, chances are that at some point in your life, you've felt that you are not "living up to your potential." This judgment often manifests itself when you take stock of all the great ideas you've had that have never gone anywhere, and all the unfinished projects that you have started but never completed.

The overwhelming number of these things that have not been "followed through" can lead you to believe that you are not living up to your potential.

This is simply not true.

By nature, ADDers are visionaries and idea generators. If only someone would pay us to think up great ideas all day long - we'd all be rich! But we get so many great ideas all the time that it would be View the rest of this article

Forex Versus Futures

The origins of today's futures market lies in the agriculture markets of the 19th century. At that time, farmers began selling contracts to deliver agricultural products at a later date. This was done to anticipate market needs and stabilize supply and demand during off seasons.
The current futures market includes much more than agricultural products. It is a worldwide market for all sorts of commodities including manufactured goods, agricultural products, and financial instruments such as currencies and treasury bonds. A futures contract states what price will be paid for a product at a specified delivery date.
When the futures market is played by speculators, the actual goods are not important and there is no expectation of delivery. Rather, it is the futur View the rest of this article

Gardening In A Square Foot

If you haven’t heard of square foot gardening, you’re about to learn one of the most useful and versatile gardening techniques ever created. Conceived by Mel Bartholomew, author of Square Foot Gardening, the techniques have been enthusiastically adopted by gardeners all over the world. Square foot gardening is eminently suited for container gardening, patio and roof gardening, backyard gardening, organic gardening, herb gardens, vegetable gardens, flower gardens and more.
The basic concept is to start small – the unit of measure is the square foot. Although Bartholomew’s original square foot garden was four feet square, many schools, community gardens and home gardeners start even smaller – a couple of one square foot containers is plenty to get you started. How Could Increased Credibility Help You Grow Your Business?

In What Subject Are You an Expert?

If you’re a small business owner, presumably you are an expert in your industry or profession — or you would not be in that industry or profession.

Expertise does not mean being the best in the world at something — like Lance Armstrong or Bill Gates. Can you imagine being ranked No. 1 in the World at a particular skill or talent? It sure would be nice — but it doesn’t happen for most of us. And yet many more of us are experts than we may realize.

With more than 6 billion people in the world, good thing it’s utterly unnecessary to be the best in the world at something to qualify as an expert. All expert means is that you know your subject better than View the rest of this article

A Smart Trick for Attracting Higher Paying AdSense Ads

There are no guarantees in life, so I don’t guarantee that following these tips will bring you more money every time. However, I do guarantee that they will greatly increase your chances of pulling more of the top-paying AdSense ads to your site than if you don’t follow these suggestions.
Enough with the disclaimers, let’s get down to the business of making money. Google lets advertisers bid anywhere from a minimum of .05 per click right up to a whopping $100. It should be pretty obvious that you’re not going to get rich running .05 cent ads on your site, but getting a few $100 ads, or even some $10, $20, or $30 ads can’t be a bad thing, right?
Now the problem is, Google is pretty closed-mouthed about who is paying what for their ads, and there is no real way View the rest of this article

1. Use A Free Submission Service: As you’ll recall, I do NOT recommend that you use a free submission service because they submit the exact same information to all of the search engines, destroying your chances of ever getting that top ranking position you deserve.
Each search engine has a different rule book (a different set of "algorithms") that it uses to evaluate your web site - so submitting the SAME information to all of the search View the rest of this article

Mortgage Pre Approval - Getting Pre Approved For A Home Loan Online

Before You Apply
Before you apply for a pre-approved mortgage, you will want to make sure all your financial records are in order. This is a good time to get a copy of your credit report and check it for any errors.
You should also determine how much of a down payment you plan on putting down. If you have good credit, you can get away with 0% down. However, in order to avoid private mortgage insurance, you will need to put down at least 20%.

Exmoor is the smallest National Park in Britain, although the scale of grandeur is by no means less. Wildlife flourishes throughout the impressive expanse of rural area. How To Build A Compost Bin

For those of you with pesky neighbors who don't appreciate big piles of yard waste rotting in plain sight, there is the compost bin. The compost bin keeps your compost neat and tidy. Your compost won't know the difference between being piled in a corner and rotting away behind the custom built cedar doors of a multi-bin setup.
The simplest compost bin you can build is to not build one at all. It's not an option for all of us but those in the country with lots of acreage can just stack up their yard waste in a pile.
Another easy option for a compost bin is to purchase a length of temporary wire fencing such as chicken wire, rabbit fencing or what View the rest of this article

Road Warrior

Did you know pinstriping has a long history? Even before the invention of automobiles, pinstriping was used as an ornamental decoration for horse and buggy carriages.
Custom pinstripes started appearing on automobiles in the mid-1950s. Although pinstriping had been on cars long before that, the last American car to appear with auto pinstriping had been made by General Motors in the late 30’s. For those individuals with muscle or sports cars, customizing their ride is an important part of owning and showcasing the vehicle, and pinstriping is a final touch.
Pinstripes are commonly painted in two colors: one that sets off the body color, and another, thin line, in a color contrasted with the stripe to make it stand out.

How To Stop Morning Breath

FACT: Just about EVERYONE has morning breath to one degree or another.

Approximately 35% of the world's population has a chronic, noticeable breath condition which usually leads them to seek help from a professional. This group of people have bad breath concerns 24 hours a day, including food odors, taste disorders, dry mouth, and of course morning breath.
Another 35% are considered "borderline" meaning that their breath seems fresh throughout the day, but they can easily reach "chronic" levels if they eat certain foods (dairy, alcohol, sugars), after taking medication (antihistamines, antidepressants, high blood pressure medication), and always when they wake up, in other words, morning breath.

Managing Teams And Six Sigma

Managing a Six Sigma team is a considerable responsibility. Six Sigma is a team process and requires cooperation at many levels. No one person can manage a Six Sigma project on their own. Just as it is the organization that benefits from Six Sigma, it is the organization that truly manages Six Sigma. Yet, that management must be led by specially trained individuals.
Success in managing Six Sigma teams begins with the top of the organization. Company leadership must give the teams the resources and the authority to apply Six Sigma concepts to their daily activities. They must also ensure that organizational goals are aligned with Six Sigma projects and that any roadblocks to Six Sigma deployment are removed.

Music Business Lessons From The Village People

Just saw Can't Stop the Music, which is the Village People's big screen debut...
What a great movie. Lots of inside jokes, a good "time capsule" of disco culture, and a great lesson on the music business.
The movie wasn't entirely true, but the Village People has been a business from Day One and there is plenty to learn from these guys.
For one, they started with a market and then put the band together. The first album, a self-titled EP, was recorded by studio musicians and made specifically for the gay audience and featured songs like "San Francisco" and "Fire Island."
When that took off, the "band" was put together...
And even though the Village People went on to mainstream success, they didn't forget who had given them their original break. You View the rest of this article
